ACCELERADE PROMOTION - On November 30th 2003, Jerry Dunn completed 20 consecutive 26.2 mile runs, powered by Accelerade, in the following cities in Colorado: Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver (and surrounding areas) and Ft. Collins. The local 7-Eleven Stores were the kickoff point for Jerry Dunn's runs and the Accelerade promotion.

AMERICA'S MARATHON MAN IS!

Boulder Running can be spelled more than one way… try Bolder Running for example. That's one way of describing what Jerry Dunn; A.K.A America's Marathon Man did during the month of November. Bolder than most, on Monday, November 10th Jerry began another of his outrageous treks as part of the Get Fit Colorado campaign, sponsored by 7/11 convenience stores and Accelerade.

Jerry's 20 marathon distance runs in 20 days was his way of garnering the attention of the media, and thus creating a bully pulpit from which to continue to preach his seemingly unending message of personal responsibility and fitness. "No pill; no magic potion; no amount of wishful thinking will ever create a healthy and fit human… ya gotta sweat, and ya gotta exercise that miraculous muscle in your chest… your heart." Jerry admits that what he does is "over the edge," and maybe even addictive, but "being addicted to running is far better than the other addictions that used to consume my life."

Jerry has done multi-day, distance runs before… his most noteworthy being 26 days in a row on the infamous Boston Marathon course in 1996. He says it was his way of celebrating The Run of the Century, the 100th Boston. However, he considers the Accelerade Colorado experience one his most enjoyable. "There's something about being able to look West and always see the Rockies…they're a constant reminder that whatever the task before us, it's relatively insignificant, when viewed through the larger lens of life."
