Selected Email Hi Jerry. Thank you so much for your fast Answer, I like to talk to such a great Sportsman like You about our great Passion. If somebody would tell me that I finish my 8th Marathon in 2001 a few Years ago I would call him crazy! But now after 3 and a half Years of succesful Running, of pushing my Limits ahead and looking forward for my first Ultra Marathon in the near Future, I’m so proud! And there was not one Moment during this 8 Marathons that I would surrender. Not in the Hottest Race in August 2000 and not in the Worst Race of my Career in September 2000 at the Berlin Marathon where 2 People died and I had a lot of Problems from Kilometer 20 on. I finished in every Race and this Fact changed a lot in my Life. And many Friends and Relatives say that too. If I run now in the Nature around my Village , even if I’m tired after a long uphill Section, the Sun is warmer, the Grass is greener and the Smell of the Wood is more intensive! I’m a slow Runner but I go for the Distance, not for the Time. Yes I would like to do One Marathon together with you, here In Germany or in the US. I’m very sure that I can come again to this beautiful Mount Rushmore Marathon in Autumn (I did the last one in 4:25) and finish again! I know that Spearfish is not far away from the Racecourse. And if you come together with Elaine to this Years Rennsteiglauf we can do the Marathon together.
